As previously suggested Milan also has some modern trams / streetcars; this example is of a type known as Sirio. Note how it is running under trees on near invisible lawn track. (ie, the steel track is there but masked by the grass). Especially when the grass extends on either side of the tracks the effect is akin to flying over a lawn.
