Raekoja Plats - Town Hall Square.
The town hall itself was almost impossible to photograph - not just because of its size but because it was in very deep shade. Which is a shame, because I feel certain that it would be of interest.
According to online information the building was constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries and is the only surviving late Gothic town hall in Northern Europe.
It has a soaring steeple which bears a 16th-century weather vane portraying the medieval warrior, ‘Old Thomas’, guardian of the city.
