Standing on the far side of the portico on the left we can see the old town in the far distance, a church with bells on the steeple in the middle distance and on our immediate left a signboard with some local information. Città di Bergamo = City of Bergamo.
I did not progress any further beyond here towards the old town as I needed to return back to the station to catch my train. However, I would like to do so on my next visit.
