Said to be the most famous of the floor mosaics is the one which represents the city of Turin (Torino) and is of the bull.
This fame is attributed to a Milanese tradition which says that if a person quickly turns on their heel 3 times whilst standing on the bull's testicles they will attract good luck.
Some sources suggest that the tradition originally said that this should be done on the bull's head, but the deep depression in the floor on the bull's testicles suggests that for one reason or another this is now the favoured location.
Unlike most of the photographs in this web album (which were taken on the Sunday afternoon) this photograph was taken on the Monday evening, when the Galleria was less crowded and after my camera had started to malfunction.
The malfunction means that the camera now massively over-exposes, usually to the point whereby the images are unviable. However in the evenings and at night it will still produce images which are at least half decent - although the colours are completely wrong. Which is the unfortunate situation with this image.
